Mark E. Alden, MD, FACRO, with extensive experience in the radiation treatment of urologic cancers, is the director of the Radiation and Imaging Center of Urology Specialists of the Lehigh Valley.
Dr. Alden earned a bachelor of arts degree from Penn State University in State College, PA, studying liberal arts and premedical sciences. He then proceeded for his master's of divinity degree at Bryn College Theological School in Bryn, PA. He graduated with honors from Thomas Jefferson University Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, receiving an M.D. degree and then completed his radiation oncology residency and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He received his board certification from the American Board of Radiology in 1994, and Gamma Knife certification in 1999 and 2003.
Dr. Alden is a past vice chairman and interim chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Drexel University, Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, and has held various academic faculty positions at both Drexel University and Thomas Jefferson University medical centers. He is a Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology, and a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology, Simon Kramer Society and American Medical Association. Dr. Alden has been a guest speaker and participant in numerous outreach and educational activities, including those for the American Cancer Society specializing in prostate cancer.
Dr. Alden has a long history of community service, including contributions of his pastoral services through his church organization in Bryn Athyn, in which he and his family remain active.
