Urology Specialists of the Lehigh Valley won two prestigious national health care awards for its Pee-cal campaign at the Iron Pigs stadium, Coca Cola Park.

The campaign was developed to create awareness among men of potential serious urologic health problems, including prostate cancer. The Pee-cals were located in the urinals and carried messages to males such as, “Standing here longer than you stood for the National Anthem?”

The campaign was created for Urology Specialists by Jangle, a Lehigh Valley based branding and advertising firm with offices in Nazareth, Pa. The campaign received gold in the 2013 Aster Awards and took silver in the Healthcare Advertising Awards.

The Aster Awards program is an elite competition honoring excellence in medical marketing and recognizing the nation’s most talented healthcare marketing professionals for outstanding advertising work. The entries in this medical marketing awards program are judged by a diverse panel of experts, are published in the May issue of Marketing Healthcare Today magazine.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards competition. A national panel of judges grants awards to those whose entries exemplify exceptional quality, creativity, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. The Healthcare Advertising Awards are sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report. Nearly 4,000 entries were received in this years competition, making the awards the largest healthcare advertising awards and one of the 10th largest of all advertising awards.

Charlie Fenstermaker, Chief Operating Officer for Urology Specialists of the Lehigh Valley, explains the importance of the marketing effort, "One of our practice’s main goals is to increase awareness of potential urologic problems, especially prostate cancer. The Pee-cals in the urinals at the Iron Pigs' stadium has created a lot of buzz and is using humor to bring attention to potentially serious urologic problems, including prostate cancer.
