2000

Bill Stevenson '02 participated in a summer REU at the University of Minnesota. Under the supervision of Dr. Chad Marsolek of the University's Center for Cognitive Sciences, Bill undertook responsibility for the design, implementation, and analysis of artificial neural networks that were designed to complete an image-recognition task. Bill also wrote computer programs to analyze data collected via functional magnetic resonance imaging (FMRI) scans on the brains of human subjects which was then compared to the computer results in the search for an adequate theory to explain human visual object recognition.
