Andrew Porpiglia '04, was also supported by NASA funding to conduct summer research into remote sensing. Andrew joined Dr. Cicconetti to investigate some statistical aspects of remote sensing. Their project compared methods of creating thematic maps from data collected from Landsat-7 satellites. The investigation included an introduction to multivariate statistics and an immersion into the field of remote sensing. Andrew presented a poster at the summer Science Division Poster Session and at the inauguration of President Randy Helm.
