2004

Biology student Emily Kluger '04 joined Dr. Cicconetti in the spring of 2003 for an applied statistics independent study. As a strong research student of Dr. Richard Niesembaum, Emily was driven to continue her study of statistics to understand the implications of the experiments they were running. After a quick review of material from MTH 104, Emily focused attention on the statistical implications of observational studies and experimental design, transformations, two-sample t-tests, one-way and two-way ANOVA and their non-parametric alternatives, and elementary factorial design of experiments. Her independent study culminated with the successful application of her new skills to her ecological experiments.
