Confessions of a Novice Costume Mistress

One Monday in early February I was taking notes at an E board meeting when Jason Conrad mentioned that Measure for Measure was desperate for crew people. I wondered, "how desperate?", and then put the thought to the side. I am a senior. This is my last semester here. I have to find a job. I was blissfully happy being free on weeknights. My homework was getting done—ahead of time for the first semester ever—and I was able to watch American Idol. I had all the time in the world to devote to my two studio classes. Life was great! The London Experience

Anyone who has spoken to me this semester knows one thing; I miss London. It's not that I'm not enjoying my time here, because I am. However, my time in London was special and can never be replicated. At what other point in my life will my parents say to me "I hope your classes are going well Danielle, but remember that's not the point." They were right, because there was so much more to my experience. My semester at Goldsmiths College allowed me to gain knowledge and confidence, build relationships, and make memories of considerable value. Reflections of a Senior

The first time I ever checked an MTA cast list was in the fall of 2000. I was beyond nervous when I walked into the Lavender Lounge. I was an extremely shy freshman (Yes me...shy) and I chose not to fight through the overwhelming crowd of strangers that was swarming the bulletin board. I waited patiently in the back of the crowd until the opportunity presented itself for me to get a good view. I quickly scanned the list, didn't see my name, shrugged my shoulders and thought to myself, "Well, I tried my best. Maybe next time." And I started to walk away. And I immediately bumped into a friend who enthusiastically congratulated me. I was baffled. "Congratulations? For what?" I asked. Apparently, I had read the list so quickly and nervously that I missed my own name on a list of only nine people!
