by William Shakespeare

A provocative play that measures human frailty in Jacobean England and then seeks justice for its unworthy and perplexing characters. Hypocrisy, debauchery, and despair are uncovered in the Duke's journey to exact law and order out of human chaos. Justice tempered with mercy is their only hope. Directed by Beth Schachter.

Haunting comedy drawn from the lives of artists who struggle for beauty, love, and fame in Chekhov's disintegrating Russian landscape. New evocative and elegant translation by famed Chekhov scholar Paul Schmidt. Co-Directed by Charles Richter and Timothy Averill; production designer Timothy Averill; featuring guest faculty artist Francine Roussel.
